Instructions
  1. Whisk together 1 1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/3 cup cocoa powder into a medium sauce pan. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
  2. While cocoa mixture is heating, whisk together remaining 1/2 cup of milk, cornstarch, salt, egg yolk and vanilla in a medium bowl.
  3. Remove cocoa mixture from heat and gradually whisk in egg mixture. Be sure to whisk vigorously to ensure eggs do clump.
  4. Return mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium-high heat whisking constantly until mixture reaches a full boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low to maintain simmer, continue whisking until thick, about 2-3 minutes. Pour into a serving bowl and cool for at least 4 hours.
Recipe Notes

Don't waste those left over egg whites!   Use them in your morning omelet or in our Pork Fried Rice Recipe.
